Kelly Booth invites you to take a sentimental journey through a century of song. Established in 2012, Vocally Vintage has been entertaining audiences across the East of England for over a decade, adding a touch of sophistication to vintage events, festivals, parties and weddings.
The Friendly Invasion Show
Kelly Booth, under her ‘Vocally Vintage’ banner, is the writer, producer and star of ‘The Friendly Invasion Show’. Together with raconteur Stephen Bayfield, they tell the story, through words, and the music of the time, of the ‘Invasion’ of our East Anglian countryside by the United States Army Airforce during the Second World War. Learn about the impact their presence had both on the area, and the local residents, already hugely affected by the consequences of three years of war. Learn also about the role and importance of music and dance at the time and how the physical and social landscapes changed so dramatically, changes that can still be seen and felt to this day, 80 years on. The show is very portable, and plans to tour in 2026.
